Double BCO Corporate Workplace Shortlist

Ryder is delighted to have two projects shortlisted in the Corporate Workplace category at the BCO Awards 2020

Tombola House, Sunderland, and Reckitt Benckiser (RB) Science and Innovation Centre, Hull, have both been recognised as an exceptional corporate workplace.

Tombola House is a bespoke headquarters for tombola, Europe’s largest gaming company, and is the first phase of a wider campus development.  Its appropriately contemporary execution reflects the client’s desire to create a striking contribution to the city and a stimulating environment for the company.

RB’s new £105m Science and Innovation Centre combines state of the art offices, research and development facilities, open plan working and collaborative areas – housing the talent and passion to drive forward the latest discoveries in consumer health.  The use of new cutting edge technology embedded within an old building shell will undoubtedly help RB achieve its future aims and goals.

The judging criteria focused on three key areas – aims and commerciality, design and accommodation and sustainability and wellbeing – with particular interest around how the building lifts the spirits and is set apart from the norm.

The judges’ visits to both projects are taking place within the next month, with winners announced at the regional awards ceremony on 26 April in Manchester.  All regional award winners then go on to compete at a national level later this year.
