Cathy Russell
Associate
Cathy is a recognised practitioner in urban design and associate of the RTPI. She studied at Leeds Metropolitan University and gained an MA in urban design at Newcastle University. Cathy’s role at Ryder involves research, masterplanning, public realm, site and contextual analysis, stakeholder engagement and planning. She also leads on historic research, heritage statements and impact assessments, working closely with conservation officers, Historic England and other consultees. Cathy is passionate about creating healthy places which enhance wellbeing, having led Ryder’s placemaking group and being currently involved in Ryder’s environmental strategy group. She also recently contributed to Ryder’s research on placemaking for health and wellbeing, which included presenting at the International Healthy City Design Congress in London.
