Warren Schmidt

Principal

Prior to establishing Ryder in Vancouver with Adam James, Warren was part of Acton Ostry Architects for more than a decade, involved in a wide variety of award winning projects and contributing to many acclaimed public and private projects.  Warren is a member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and a certified Passive House designer.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental design and a master’s in architecture from the University of Manitoba.  Warren serves as a mentor to graduate students at the UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, and is a sessional instructor and design studio mentor in the RAIC syllabus program. Warren is a keen enthusiast of most sports, considering himself a capable skier and squash player, though admits these skills are arguable.
